Rosas

In the video Vocabularium (2023), Cynthia Loemij and Boštjan Antončič, who joined the company in 1991 and 2005 respectively, present over ninety excerpts from the more than sixty works Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker and Rosas created in the past forty years, each in the original costumes. The result is a fascinating overview of the oeuvre that reveals important evolutions in both dance and costumes. This video was made in collaboration with Ruben Desiere and Olivia Rochette, on the occasion of the exhibition ECHO. Wrapped in Memory on view at MoMu - Fashion Museum Antwerp from October 14, 2023 until February 25, 2024. In this unique lecture performance, Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker annotates Vocabularium live. The choreographer discusses a selection of Rosas performances in more detail, and offers invaluable insights into the development of the movement material, the costume choices, and collaborations of the past forty years.
