DRUMMING XXL, danced by P.A.R.T.S., École des Sables and CNSMDP

P.A.R.T.S. joined forces with the Conservatoire national supérieur de musique et de danse de Paris in Paris and École des Sables in Senegal to make an extra extra large version of the Rosas piece Drumming (1998), choreographed to music by Steve Reich.

Guided by Clinton Stringer, sixty-two students from the three schools recreated several sections of the iconic work, made their own transformations of the original dance material, created duets and trios, and used the underlying structures of the choreography to create a new version of Drumming.

DRUMMING XXL was performed in open air in the center of Brussels (Beursplein/ Place de la Bourse) on the 31st of May, 2024. It was also presented in Paris at MC93 Bobigny, from June 5 to 8, and at La Villette on the 9th of June, 2024.

More information about this extraordinary event may be found on the P.A.R.T.S. website
