Body of Work — Unfolding Fase

How to keep dance heritage alive?
By dancing!

STUK presents Body of Work: a new annual festival focused on living dance heritage. Unlike a painting or a book, a dance performance cannot be preserved in an archive or museum. A performance can only continue to exist if it is danced over and over again. The Body of Work festival breathes new life into dance performances by sharing them with a fresh generation of dance artists and audiences.

In the first edition of the festival Fase, Four Movements to the Music of Steve Reich will be the centerpiece. With this performance, the 21-year-old Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker promptly made her mark on the world stage in 1982. We invite you to (re)discover this classic through performances, an exhibition, concerts, installations, films, lectures, and workshops.
